Paneer is India’s most popular and favorite vegetarian wonder. It’s used in making a variety of dishes and each one has its own distinct taste.
The most easiest and my personal favorite paneer dish is paneer tikka masala. The name itself makes our mouth water and our stomach growl. It is one of the most popular Indian vegetarian dish which is made of marinated and grilled cubes of soft luscious paneer (Indian cottage cheese). It is renowned for having an incredibly rich and smoky taste which is going to make you crave some more. The most amazing part of paneer tikka is that it’s not just easier but also quicker to make. Now, lets see how to prepare paneer tikka at home.
Paneer tikka masala recipe
Ingredients:
Instructions:
1. Marinate the Paneer:
• Mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, lemon juice, salt, and oil in a mixing bowl.
•To this marinade, add the paneer cubes and coat them thoroughly. For at least half an hour, cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator to marinate.
2. Prepare the Vegetable Marinade (optional):
If you’re using vegetables(bell peppers, onions, tomato), mix them with the red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and oil. Toss to coat the vegetables evenly. Make sure to cut the vegetables in the way shown in the image above.
3. Put the Paneer Tikka together:
Vegetables and marinated paneer cubes are alternately threaded onto the skewers.
To keep wooden skewers from burning while being grilled, immerse them in water for 20 to 30 minutes before starting the entire process.
4. Paneer Tikka on the grill:
Set your oven or grill to a high setting (about 200 °C or 400 °F).
Use a grilling pan or some oil to grease the grill grates.
Cook the skewers on the grill or in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, rotating them halfway through, or until the paneer and vegetables are scorched and thoroughly cooked. As they are grilling, grease them with a little butter or oil for flavor.
5. Serve:
Remove the paneer tikka from the skewers and serve hot with mint chutney, onion rings, and lemon wedges.
Paneer tikka makes for a great appetizer or side dish in Indian cuisine. Enjoy your homemade paneer tikka masala!
